Living Centerpeices

Potted plants are some of my favorite types of table decor.

If you anticipate having limited time the day or even week of the event, just plan to pick these up far in advance.  Unlike cut flowers or perishable food bouquets, these flowers keep almost infinitely and still look fresh for your party (especially if you water them).

Little self-watering pots from Lowes make keeping the plants basically foolproof.

Just make sure to purchase plants with flowers in various stages of openness...in order to ensure there will actually be blooms at the party.

This year, I’m planning to accomplish few decorating goals with one idea by raffling off these plants at a fundraiser I get to help with the day before Mother’s Day. The centerpieces will be great for accenting/earning extra funds at the party, and hopefully, lots of mommies will enjoy them the next day.

Rooted flower arrangements are considerably more affordable than their cut cousins but provide just as much impact.  Plus, for smaller tables, dividing multiple plants from large pots into smaller, even more adorable pots can also help decrease costs without sacrificing style

Start with this:

Find where one daisy ends and one begins:

Re-pot:

Voila:

Don’t forget to embellish your embellishments!
...the fundraiser colors are blue & yellow, and the fairy houses will be perfect for a whimsical theme!
